Before you start
Use a supported contact file and only contact information you are permitted to transfer.
What to do
- Open Contacts, choose the intended address book and select Import or the relevant Export action.
- For an import, select the file and review the format, destination and duplicate-handling options shown before continuing.
- Inspect the imported entries, or check that the export contains the intended contacts. Keep downloaded contact files private.
What happens next
The address book contains the accepted import, or the browser downloads the selected contact export.
If something goes wrong
If an import fails, use the displayed format guidance and inspect existing contacts before trying again. A contact export is not a mailbox or message backup.
