How do comments, subtasks and dependencies work?

Task details keep discussion and related work together.

Before you start

You need access to the task and permission for the specific change.

What to do

  1. Open task details to read or add a relevant comment.
  2. Create or link a subtask when work belongs beneath the current task.
  3. Link a dependency when another task must finish first.
  4. Complete prerequisite and child work before completing a blocked parent or dependent task.

What happens next

The task shows its discussion, hierarchy and prerequisite relationships.

If something goes wrong

Circular relationships and completion blocked by unfinished prerequisites are refused. Inspect the linked tasks rather than repeatedly submitting the same blocked action.
